MARKET STALLS: SOLD OUT FOR DECEMBER!!

Date: 10am-4pm, Sunday 11th December 2011

Location: Newtown Neighbourhood Centre
Across the road from Newtown Railway Station on King Street, Newtown 2042

Getting there: Where possible and certainly if you are coming from within a 10 kilometre radius of Newtown, we strongly recommend that you arrive by public transport. Bus services that stop right outside Newtown Station: 423, 426 and 428 via Circular Quay and Central Station, 422 and 370 from (Coogee to Leichhardt). For timetable information call 131 500. Newtown Station is 3 stops from Central Station, where Newtown trains depart from Platform 19. Then simply walk across the road (safely, please!).

Parking: If you’re arriving by car, we suggest looking for parking in the back streets either side of King Street. There is also metred parking on King Street and behind the supermarket, entry on Church Street.

Entry: $2 or FREE if you bring a handful of good quality womens clothing to donate to our charities, Vinnies – Feel Good Shopping and WAGEC, Surry Hills.

Cash: Bring it! Our stall holders will not have EFTPOS facilities. We can direct you to the nearest ATMs (eg. Town Hall Hotel, Zanzibar and Commonwealth Bank and ANZ ATMs on King Street.

Green Bags: In the name of eco friendliness, we ask that you bring along a green bag for your purchases. Stall holders may have a few spares, but they’ve been asked to only supply recycled bags too.

Amenities: Inside the venue

Refreshments: Social Change Room will give you a hand stamp upon entry so that you can go visit the lovely cafés and restaurants on King Street for food and refreshments. But be sure to come back for some bargain reductions just before closing time!!

Politeness: Please bring your manners! Stall holders are not professional retailers, so please be patient and understanding as they get the hang of selling their goods. It’s meant to be a fun event for everybody, a great chance to do your bit for some worthy charities and for you to get some great, eco friendly bargains in the process!
